To Blackberry or Not To Blackberry...

I've always been questioning why are people getting Blackberrys. Especially the youngsters nowadays. Do they really have a lot of important emails to be retrieved and replied urgently?

Well, after looking at Hendro's Blackberry... I kinda understand now what is great about Blackberry, aside from its push e-mail service. BB Messenger is awesome. It's free and you know whether people has read your message or not. That's to ensure that the other party has received and read the message. Business wise, it's quite an important feature to ensure an important message has reached the desired recipient.

Other than the feature, it saves cost. 100 messages is about Rp. 25.000,-. In a month, especially when you are still young, you'll probably spend most of your money on sms. 50 messages a day can be quickly achieved. In 30 days, you'll spend about 1500 messages which will cost you about Rp. 300.000,-. That's if you're on a postpaid plan. Nowadays, you can get BB service as low as Rp. 150.000 / month. Ok. Not everyone has a BB. True... but you can always contact people through Yahoo! Messenger or MSN Messenger through BB. And best of all, to be recognized... you'll also have unlimited access to Facebook. So for as low as Rp. 150.000/month, it is such a good deal. It has been proven in corporates that BB Messenger cuts communication cost by a lot.

Now, it's my time to decide whether I should get that Javelin... as the rest of the office is starting to utilize BB...
